SmarSync manual tasks set up

As an alternative to using the SmartSync service, SmartSync can be set up to work with scheduled tasks for more reliability.

1) Disable the SmartSync service (the reverse of what was discussed below).

2) Create two .bat files, one for posting and one for the large daily sync (suppliers, etc):

Posting:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Click2Scan\SmartSync\SmartSyncCommand.exe" post "NAME OF PROFILE IN SMARTSYNC"

>>Replace NAME OF PROFILE IN SMARTSYNC with the name of the profile in Smartsync

Sync

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Click2Scan\SmartSync\SmartSyncCommand.exe" sync "NAME OF PROFILE IN SMARTSYNC"

>>Replace NAME OF PROFILE IN SMARTSYNC with the name of the profile in Smartsync

These can go anywhere as the next step includes pointing the task at them, but generally alongside the other SmartSync items is ideal.

3) Create a scheduled task for each .bat, set the relevant trigger (times during the day to run) and set the relevant action (start program, to run the .bat file), e.g:

Start a program: - "C:\Click2Scan\ScheduledTasks\Profile1Posting.bat"

We'd usually set the full sync for early, e.g. 4/5AM, and then set the posting afterwards, set to recur every hour.

In settings:

-Make sure that stop the task if it runs longer than is set as 1 hour

-If the task is already running, then the following rule applies "Run a new instance in parallel"
